The actual radar system, as used by the Defence Services of our nation, comprises of missile launching and guidance system, which is a sophisticated example of military application of feed back control. The target plane is sighted by a rotating radar antenna, which then locks and continuously tracks the target. The signals transmitted from the antenna correspond to a particular frequency depending upon the position and velocity of the plane as given by the radar output data. The launch computer calculates the firing angle in terms of the command signal; drive the launcher (Drive motor). The launcher angular position is fed back to the launch computer and missile is triggered as soon as the error between the launch command signal and missile firing angle becomes zero. After being fired, the missile enters the radar beam which is tracking the target.
